The three angles in a triangle always add up to 180 degrees. If one angle in a triangle is 72 degrees and the second is 2 times the third, what are the angles?
----
Let the third be "x".
Then the 2nd is "2x".
---
Equation:
x + 2x + 72 = 180
3x = 108
x = 36 degrees
2x = 72 degree

Hi
the second is 2 times the third
Let x and 2x represent the third and second angles respectively
question states***
72° + 2x + x = 180°
solving for x
3x = 108°
x = 36°, the second angle. The third is 72° (2*36°)
CHECKING our Anwer
72° + 36° + 72° = 180°
