some of these were 7' rollers, which sold for $1.97 each,
while the rest were for 9' rollers, which sold for $2.29 each.
how many types of rollers where sold if the sales totaled 518.78.

Let x = 7' rollers
Let y = 9' rollers

Total item equation
x + y = 238
y = (238-x); use this for substitution in the 2nd equation
:
1.97x + 2.29y = 518.78
