Sarah took a cab and the cab driver charged her .50 for 1/5 mile and an additional .20 for 1/10 of a mile. How much did a 2 mile taxi cab drive cost excluding the tip?

Hi, 

.50 for 1/5mi, leaving 2mi-1/5mi = (9/5)mi Or mi to go

Note: $0.20 for each tenth of a mile remaining

.50 + .20*18 = $0.50 + $3.60 = $4.10
