Answer by checkley77(12844) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x+3x+2=10
4x=10-2
4x=8
x=8/4
x=2 ft. for the shorter piece./
3*2+2=6+2=8 ft. for the longer piece.
Proof:
8+2=10
10=10
