Question 353926: How many liters of some solution containing 15% of chemicals should be added to the same kind of solution with 65% chemicals to obtain 10 liters of solution with 50% of chemicals?
Answer by checkley77(12844) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
.65X+.15(10-X)=.50*10
.65X+1.5-.15X=5
.50X=5-1.5
.50X=3.5
X=3.5/.50
X=7 LITERS OF THE 65% SOLUTION IS USED.
10-7=3 LITERS OF THE 15% SOLUTION IS USED.
PROOF:
.65*7+.15*3=.50*10
4.55+.45=5
5=5
