Question 315239: I have tried these questions and this is what I have got so far but I am lost and totally confused, please help me I cant affor to fail...Thank you
Our fund raising committee is going to sell T-Shirts to raise support for our school. Signature Shirts is charging us a flat $50 set up fee, and then a charge of $6.50 per shirt for the printing.
Using “ t” for t-shirts, what is the function for our T-Shirt order?
Using your above function, what would be the value of F(50)?
F(50)=6.50+50*50=2825.00
Using your above function, what would be the value of F(100)?
F(100)=6.50+100*100=1065.00
We have decided to base what we charge for the T-Shirts on the total cost per shirt. What would be an appropriate domain? Range? Why did you choose those values?
In the past, we have done a variety of fund raisers for our committee. For example, we printed hats one year. The function for the cost of the hats (including the $15.50 set up fee) was
F(x) = 2.09x + 15.50 =214.05
We sold 95 hats that year. How much was our total bill from Signature Shirts? (Yes, they do hats, too…)
How many hats would we have sold had we paid Signature Shirts $341.54?
What is our slope of this function?
What is our y-intercept?

Your equation is incorrect.
Think about it this way.
The T-shirt company charges the $50 whether you sell zero t-shirts or 1,000,000 t-shirts.
So that cost is a constant, that is, it's NOT a function of t, the number of shirts.
The per-shirt cost is $6.50/shirt. The units should be the give-away. It has units of $/shirt and it needs a # of shirts multiplier to give you units of cost($).

.
$=($/shirt)*shirt

OK, so now the function looks like,
Now work through the problems and see how it goes.
Re-post if you get stuck.
