Let x = orchestra seats
Let y = balcony seats
We have a system of linear equations in two variables.
Here is the set up and you can then work out the math:
x + y = 650
20x + 12y = 11,600

let orchestra seats be x
AND balcony seats y
20x+12(650-x)= 11600
20x+7800-12x=11600
