The Brooklyn Bridge was built 54 years before the Golden Gate Bridge. In 1983 the Golden Gate Bridge was 23/50 the age of the Brooklyn Bridge. What year was each bridge built?
B = age Brooklyn Bridge
B - 54 = age Golden Gate Bridge
B - 54 = 23/50 * B
50B - 50*54 = 23B
27B = 50*54
27B = 2700
B = 100
1983 - 100 = 1883 for Brooklyn Bridge
1883 + 54 = 1937 Golden Gate Bridge
