Question 274016: You are at the mall of america searching for a new cell phone. you have idenified two plans that work for you. Fast communications charges a monthly fee of $15..20 for texting, call waiting, and caller id. They also charge & cents per min. to use the phone. Alltell charges a monthly fee of $9.50 for texting, call waiting, and caller id. Also charge 9 cents to use the phone. Which plan is better?
Answer by calegebra(14) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Assume 100 minutes for both
Fast Comm = $15.20 + 100(.07/min)=$7.00 for a total of $22.20
Alltel = $9.50 + 100(.09/min)=$9.00 for a total of $18.50
Alltel is less costly at 100 minutes used, but assume 500 minutes and Fast communications is less costly
Fast Comm = $15.20 + 500(.07/min)=$35.00 for a total of $50.20
Alltel = $9.50 + 500(.09/min)=$45.00 for a total of $54.20
The better deal depends on minutes used.
