A yardstick measures 0.5 by 2 by 36 inches. How many yardsticks will fit in a box 3.5 inches wide and 36 inches high, if the length of the box is 18 inches? 
Using Volume = L×W×H,

The volume of the box is 18x3.5x36 = 2268 cubic inches

The volume of one yardstick is 36x2x0.5 = 108 cubic inches'

So we divide 2268 by 108 and get 21 yardsticks.
