The sum of the measures of the angles of a triangle is 180 degrees. Find the 3 angles of a triangle if one angle is 20 degrees greater than the smallest angle and the third angle is twice the smallest angle.
I just don't know what numbers to use i understand that i am solving for the smallest angle.So where does 180 and 20 come into play.

Find the 3 angles of a triangle if one angle is 20 degrees greater than the smallest angle and the third angle is twice the smallest angle.

Call the smallest angle A.
The 3 angles are A, A + 20, and 2A.
---------
A + A+20 + 2A = 180
4A + 20 = 180
4A = 160
A = 40 (smallest angle)
A+20 = 60 (2nd angle)
2A = 80 (3rd angle)
