Equation:
value + value = value
1.8x + 2.4(48-x) = 2*48
Multiply thru by 10 to get:
18x + 24*48 - 24x = 20*48
-6x = -4*48
x = 4*8 = 32 (amount of $1.80 candy needed in the mixture)

48-32 = 16 lbs (amount of $2.40 candy needed in the mixture)
