Hello,
Let's have "x" represent a number. The key to these type of problems is understanding the words in the problem.
x-20 will be on one side and 2x will be on the other side to look like this:
x-20>2x Now Subtract x from both sides to give us:
-20>x
There we go. x<-20
Try a number like -25 to see if it works in the equation.
