Question 25249: Once again, I have issues with getting word problems into an equation. If there is someone who can set the equation up, I can take it from there (usually)! Thank you so much!
Suppose wheat and sugar are the two basic ingredients necessary to bake two
items: A loaf of bread and a muffin. A baker has 25 pounds of wheat and 5
pounds of sugar. To bake each loaf of bread, the baker needs to use 1.3
pounds of wheat and 0.5 pounds of sugar. To bake each muffin, the baker
needs 0.4 pounds of wheat and 0.16 pounds of sugar.
a) Set up the inequalitities representing the baker's possible choices for
baking the number of loaves of bread and muffins to use up his available
resources (wheat and sugar).
b) If each loaf of bread is sold for $2.50, and each muffin is sold for
$1.15, define an equation to represent the baker's profit function.
Answer by LolaFish(5) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(1.3+.5)x=(.16+.4)x
then X muffins * $1.15 + X loafs of bread * $2.5
hope i helped!
