Question 186360: A chemist has one solution that is 15% acid and a second that is 25% acid. How many liters of each should be mixed together to get 100L that is 18% acid?
Answer by checkley77(12844) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
.25x+.15(100-x)=.18*100
.25x+15-.15x=18
.10x=18-15
.10x=3
x=3/.10
x=30 L of 25% acid is used.
100-30=70 L of 15% acid is used.
Proof:
.25*30+.15*70=.18*100
7.5+10.5=18
18=18
