Let l be the length and w be the width of a rectangle
then perimeter of a rectangle, p=2(l+w)
Given p=28 metres
and l=2w+2 as length 2 metres more than twice the width
so p=2(2w+2+w)=2(3w+2) = 6w+4
28= 6w+4

----------
24= 6w
w=4metres
l=2w+2 = 2*4+2 = 8+2 =10 metres
length of a rectangle is 10 metres

then
(2x +2) = length

2(2x+2) + 2x = 28
