Let x = number of games tied
then from "they won 9 more games than they tied" we get
x+9 = number of games won
.
"tied points" + "win points" = "total points"
x + 2(x+9) = 60
x + 2x + 18 = 60
3x = 42
x = 14 (games tied)
.
games won:
x+9 = 14+9 = 23 (games won)
