Weight equation: w + c = 40*(1/8) = 5
Value equation: 7.49w + 6.99c = 35.70

40*1/8=5 lbs. of mixed nuts are prepared.
7.49x+6.99(5-x)=35.70
7.49x+34.95-6.99x=35.70
.5x=.75
x=.75/.5
x=1.5 lbs. of shelled walnuts are used.
5-1.5=3.5lbs. of milk chocolate are used.
proof:
7.49*1.5+6.99*3.5=35.70
11.235+24.465=35.70
35.70=35.70
