Let x = length of 3rd side
then
(x+4) = length of the longer side
and
(x-5) = length of the shorter side

The perimeter equation:
x + (x+4) + (x-5) = 29
x + x + x + 4 - 5 = 29
3x - 1 = 29
3x = 29 + 1
3x = 30
x = 30%2F3
x = 10
