Question 130791: Arianne is mixing a solution for Chemistry class. She has a 25% copper solution and a 50% copper solution. How much of each should she mix to max 1000ml of a 45% solution
Answer by checkley71(8403)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
.5X+.25(1000-X)=.45*1000
.5X+250-.25X=450
.25X=450-250
.25X=200
X=200/.25
X=800 ML OF 50% COPPER SOLUTION.
1000-800=200 ML OF 25% COPPER SOLUTION.
PROOF:
.5*800+.25*200=450
400+50=450
450=450
