: FInd the measure of an angle such that the sum of the measures of its compliment and suppliment is 160`. I do not know how to set up this problem in order to solve it. Have tried several different ways and have not been succesful.EXAMPLE:90-x+180-x=160 This question is from textbook Introductory to Algebra

Answer by Ahha(5)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(90-x)+(180-x)=160
90-x+180-x=160
270-2x=160 Collect terms
-2x=-110 Subtract 270 from both sides
x=55 Divide both sides by 2
Check:
90-55=35
180-55=125
And finally....35+125=160
