Let number of shares at $2.00 be x
And number of shares at $3,25 be y
The investor bought 300 shares of stock,
So, x+y = 300.....................................................(1)
Investment
the total cost was $756.25,
2x+3.25y = 756.25..............................................(2)
Now x+y = 300 multiply by 2
2x+2y = 600
2x+3.25y = 756.25 Subtract the equations ( From (2)
-1.25y = -156.25
divide by -1.25
y = -156.25/ -1.25
y =125
x = 300-125= 175
So, the investor bought 175 shares at $2.00 per share and 125 shares at $3.25 per share.

175*2+3.25*125 =756.25
