Question 1179829: F.M. Windows offers its sales reps a choice between two salary plans: straight 10% commission or $400, plus 5% commission. How much would a sales rep have to sell under each plan to earn the same monthly cheque?
Answer by mananth(16946) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
let sales be x
straight 10% commission
10%x = 0.1x
or $400, plus 5% commission.
400 +0.05x
Both are equal
0.1x =400+0.05x
0.05x =400
x= 8000
Sales should be $8000 for same monthly cheque
