Hi
$220 - $42 = $178
$12n ≥ $178 | $178/$12 = 14.8 wks round up
n ≥ 15 | NOTE: $12x15 = $180
minimum number of weeks to pay for the prom ticket is 15 weeks

We can first start off by subtracting $42 from $220, to find how much money he needs to save up.
220-42= $178
Now, since we know that he gets $12 dollars a week from walking his neighbor's dog, we divide the total of $178, by $12 to see how many weeks he needs to work in order to reach his goal of $178.
178/12 = 14.83
Since we know he can't work for 0.83 of a week, and since we know the minimum to earn $178 would talk 14.83 weeks, we round our answer up to 15 weeks, since that will guarantee the money we need.
