The cost of the first shipment , which contained 12 identical word processing programs and identical spreadsheet programs, was $6190. The second shipment, at the same prices, contained 5 copies of the word processing program and 8 copies of the spreadsheet program. The cost of the second shipment was $3825. Find the cost for one copy of the word processing program .

To be accurate, the problem must say, how many identical spreadsheet programs does the first shipment contain.

I ask about it because, in contrary to the common sense, the value of $6190 is not a multiple of 12 neither regarding dollars nor cents.

I see it in every second or third post in this forum, that the posted problems come mutilated,
as if somebody specially makes them inapplicable for further usage.
