Question 1151546: Felix is going to the ballpark. He has $40. His ticket will cost $12. If
hot dogs costs $2.00 and soda costs $4.00, write and graph an
inequality for how many hot dogs and sodas he can purchase.

his ticket will cost 12 dollars.
hot dogs cost 2 dollars.
sodas cost 4 dollars.
let x equal the number of hot dogs and let y equal the number of sodas.
your equation becomes 2x + 4y + 12 <= 40.
subtract 12 from both sides of this equation to get 2x + 4y <= 28.
if you let x = 0, then y <= 7
if you let y = 0, then x <= 14
anywhere in between will give you different value.
the first graph shows you just the end points.
the second graph shows you some points in between.
both graphs use the inequality of 2x + 4y <= 28.
