Question 1147480: Suppose a car rental company charges $134 for the first day and $88
for each additional or partial day. Let S(x) represent the cost of renting a car for x days. Find the value of S(4.5).
Answer by greenestamps(13203) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
S(4.5) is the cost of renting the car for 4.5 days. Since the cost after the first day is for full or partial days, that will be the same S(5).
That means the first day cost plus 4 times the additional day cost.
Plug in the numbers and do the arithmetic.
P.S. What kind of car are they renting? a Lamborghini?
