Answer by Alan3354(69443)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Find the 2 groundspeeds, upwind and downwind.
The plane's airspeed is the average of the 2.
----------
Windspeed = difference between airspeed and groundspeed.
==========
PS Planes (and ships) don't use kms.
They use nautical miles and knots.

Answer by addingup(3677)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Rate*Time = Distance
5*R = 3865
R = 3865/5 = 773
Against the wind:
4565/5 = 913
Average: (773+913)/2 = 843
843-773 = 70 this is the wind speed
or you can do:
913-843 = 70 again, this is the wind speed
