Question 1068993: A local recreation center is having a deal! Usually, they charge $5 per day to use the pool. However, this month swimmers can pay a one-time fee of $24 and then only pay $3 per day. After how many days will both plans cost the same? If all you have is $75 to spend for the summer on visiting the pool, which offer would you take and why?
Answer by Boreal(15235) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
$24+$3x=$5x equalizes
$2x=$24
x=12 days.
At 12 days, it is $60 each way.
For $75, one could get 15 days at $5 a day or 75=24+3x; 51=3x; x=17 days.
The second choice is the best bargain.
