Question 1046907: A car can be rented from agency A at $85 per day plus $0.15 a mile or from agency B at $60 a day plus $0.25 a mile. If the car is driven m miles, for what values of m does it cost less to rent from agency A?
Answer by addingup(3677) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
85+0.15m < 60+0.25m
25 < 0.10m flip the equation so that the m is on the left and divide:
m > 250
------------------
Check:
85+0.15(250) = 122.50
60+0.25(250) = 122.50
So every mile over 122.50 miles you pay
With A 0.15
With B 0.25
Thus, A is cheaper over 122.5 miles
