Question 1043892: Please help me solve this:
A hotel rents out rooms for $75 per night. The hotel also pays $225 every day in maintenance and upkeep fees.
A. How much would the hotel make if they rented out 35 rooms on Thursday? $___
B. How many rooms would the hotel have to rent out to make twice as much the following day? ___
Answer by Boreal(15235) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Cost=$225
Revenue = $75x, x being the number of rooms rented.
R-C=75(35)-225=$2400
Double that
4800=75*x-225
5025=75x
x=67 rooms
One can't just double the number of rooms, because the maintenance fee is constant and doesn't change proportionally. It doesn't change at all.
