Question 1032486: Problem: Ring-A-Ding Phone Company charges each customer $160 for telephone installation, plus $40 per month for service. Dial Tone Phone Company charges $210 for telephone installation, plus $30 per month for service. A customer who signs up for Dial Tone will pay the same total amount for his or her telephone as a customer who signs up for Ring-A-Ding if each pays for installation and service for how many months.
Possible Answers are: 4 months, 5 months, 7 months, and 9 months.
Based on my calculations, Dialtone is paid $240 per month and Ring-A-Ding is paid $200 per month. The two companies were costed out for payment for the four possible month solutions, but none of them were equal.
Dialtone: 960 1200 1,680 and 2,160
Ring-A-Ding: 800 1,000 1,400 and 1,800
"His or her telephone" seems to be the key in this question but I still can't solve. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Jamaal Zeigler
