Question 1030932: A painter charges an initial fee of $50 and $30 for each hour of labor. Write a linear function to determine the total cost. How much will it cost if the painter takes 4.5 hours to paint?
Answer by fractalier(6550)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Call the cost C and the number of hours worked, h.
Then we write
C = 30h + 50
If h = 4.5, then
C = 30(4.5) + 50 = 135 + 50 = $185
