How do you write a linear equation to a story problem such as- the group needs to raise 1600 dollars, they sell tea for .50 cents and lemonade for .80 cents. Write a linear equation and graph it
:
Let x = no. of teas sold
Let y = no. of lemonades
:
.50x + .80y = 1600
.80y = -.50x + 1600
Divide both sides by .8
y = -.625x + 2000
:
x| y
------
80|1950
1040|1350
Plot these to points
The graph
