Hi there,
Make the tape = 'x'
Book costs 1/2x
Recorder costs 12 + 1/2x
A girl bought tape, a book and a recorder
at a total cost of $100.00
x + 1/2x + 12 + 1/2x = 100
Collect like terms
x + 1/2x + 1/2x = 100 - 12
2x = 88
x = 44
Tape cost $44
Book cost $22
Recorder cost $34
Hope this helps :-)
