Answer by macston(5194)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
.
C=L=length of ladder; A=height up side of building=L-2;
B=distance from building to bottom of ladder=L-4
.

Since L must be greater than 4 (Distance from building is L-4),
L=10.
.
ANSWER: Length of ladder is 10 feet.
.
CHECK:
C=L=10 feet
A=L-2=10-2=8 feet
B=L-4=10-4=6 feet
.
