Question 1009869: If I write √2 then within this root I put in another √2 and again and again,does it diverge as we are dealing with the square root of a Prime, so irrational or
could I solve it simply by writing y = √2 + y and simply solve a quadratic to get y = - 1 or y = 2??

.
Are you talking about

 ?

If "Yes", then introduce x = .

Square both sides, and you will get an equation

 = ,   or

 = .

Factorize left side

(x+1)*(x-2) = 0.

The appropriate root is x = 2.

So,   = 2.

Answer.   = 2.
