Question 1009106: An art dealer sold 10 etchings for $300. He sold some of them at $25 each and the rest at $35 each. How many etchings did he sell at each price
Answer by fractalier(6550)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Call the number of etchings at $25, x.
Then the number at $35 will be 10-x.
The set up is like this
25x + 35(10-x) = 300
25x + 350 - 35x = 300
-10x = -50
x = 5 at $25
10-x = 5 at $35
