Question 1007213: Jack is selling tickets to an event. Attendees can either buy a general admission ticket or a VIP ticket. The
general adimission tickets are $60 and the VIP tickets are $90. He doesn’t know how many of each type
he has sold, but he knows he sold a total of 29 tickets and made $2100.
Answer by fractalier(6550) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Call the number of general and VIP tickets, g and v. Then we have
g + v = 29 and
60g + 90v = 2100
Now multiply the top equation by 60 and subtract from the second one and get
60g + 90v = 2100
-(60g + 60v = 1740)
------------------
30v = 360
v = 12 VIP tickets
g = 17 general tickets
