Question 263346: I am stumped on this question and I am not sure how to figure out the perimeter. If I knew that number I could solve the problem. Thanks for your help.
Consider a square and a regular hexagon (a six sided figure with sides of equal length). One side of the square is 7 feet longer than a side of the hexagon, and the two figures have the same perimeter. What are the lengths of the sides of each figure?
I set it up as x= hexagon
x+7= square
x+x+7=?

A concrete driveway has a perimeter of 280 feet. The length of the driveway is 20 feet more than 4 times its width. Find the length and width of the driveway by writing two equations with two varibles, and solving the equations by either the addition method or the substitution method.
