Question 138128: I have a couple of questions. They are word problems dealing with planning for a dance and keeping the ticket price low.
1. Band A charges $600 to play for the evening. Band B charges $350 plus $1.25 for each ticket sold. Write a linear equation for the cost of each band. Also find the number of tickets for which the cost of the two bands will be equal.
2. A caterer charges a fixed cost for preparing dinner plus a cost for each person served. You know that the cost for 100 people will be$750 and the cost for 150 people will be $ 1050. Find the caterer's fixed cost and the cost per person served.
3.From the information above , assume that 200 people will come to the dance. Which band would you choose and the cost per ticket that you need to charge to cover expenses?
Please, please HELP!!!

Question 138352: Solving Systems of Linear Equations by Graphing
2x-y=4
x+y=5
How do I do these equations.
I don't know how to set them up to solve, or what do with them once they are solved. My book does not explain these problems at all.
Thanks

Question 138481: Please, ia m not even sure if i am in the right area. Wont someone help me please?????
Solve the system by the elimination method of these:
1) 5x + 5y = -11
7x - 2y = 13
2) 0.3x - 0.2y = 4
0.2x + 0.5y = 1
3) 6x - 9y = 13.5
7y - 2x = -6.5
4) 0.05x + 0.25y = 11
0.15x + 0.05y = 12
On these it says "What is the solution of the system". (Type an order pair. Type an integer or a decimal. Type N if there is no solution. Type I if there are infinitely many solutions)
Will someone, anyone, please help me. I am so confused. thank you in advance to anyone that will take the time to help.

Question 139845: The saddle height on a bicycle should be 109% of the riders inside leg measurement (L). Write and equation expressing the fact that the saddle height for Brenda is 36 inches.
Here is what I can think of...
109%/1000 = 0.109
.109+L=36 or 36/109=L

Question 139902: I am not sure if I have this correct. I did try it though. In 1992 the average price of a lot on the beach near a town on Puget Sound was $94,000. By 1999, the average price of a home was $129,000. Find a linear model for the price of such a lot on the beach, P, if t=o represents the year 1992.
Here is my answer: P=$35,000t+$94,000
