Question 131556: Solving Linear Systems:
Use substitution to solve the linear system. Then check your solution.
x - 2y = 9
1.5x + 0.5y = 6.5
I understand how to solve the first equation, but I don't understand how to substitute the x answer into the second equation to be able to find the value of y.

Question 132034: Choosing A Method:
Solve the linear system.
8x + 9y = 42
6x - y = 16
I can get my first equation to equal 42 with the coordinates (2/5/23,2/16/23) and (1/20/31,3/19/93)
But I can't get either of those coordinates to fit in the bottom equation.

Question 133399: Could someone please help me with this problem. I need to find the equation of the line parallel to 2y = -x + 3 which passes through (0,4)
My solution was to simplify 2y = -x + 3
So I tried 2y/2 = -x/2 + 3/2
so I came up with y = -x/2 + 3/2 but I am yucky with fractions. Could someone tell me if I am on the right page or not?

Question 133406: Okay could I please get help with this one. I've to a certain point and have gotten stuck. I need to find the equation of a line that passes through points
(0,2) and (4,4)
This is what I have done so far.
first to find the slope I used m = 4 -2/4-0
The intercept would be 2/4
now for the point slope of the line I used y-2 = 2/4 (x + 0)
y -2 = 2/4x + 2/4
y-2 + 2 = 2/4x + 2/4 + 2
y = 2/4x + this is where I have gotten lost
I would appreciate the help
