Question 143217: I'm having problems finding the x & y intercepts for this system. I found the solution but not the intercepts. Any help would be appreciated.
Determine how many solutions exist
Use either elimination or substitution to find the solutions (if any)
Graph the two lines, labeling the x-intercepts, y-intercepts, and points of intersection.
4x = 8 and 5y = 15
4x = 8
x = 2
5y = 15
y = 3
CHECK
4(2) = 8
8 = 8
5(3) = 15
15 = 15

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
this is a vertical line (4x=8) and a horizontal line (5y=15)

you have the intercepts __ x=2 (2,0) and y=3 (0,3)

the intersection of the lines is (2,3) __ this is the single solution
