2x=3-2x-5Subtract 5 from both sides


2x%2B2x=3-5 Add 2x to both sides


4x=3-5 Combine like terms on the left side


4x=-2 Combine like terms on the right side


x=%28-2%29%2F%284%29 Divide both sides by 4 to isolate x



x=-1%2F2 Reduce
