Question 188088: In recent decades, the percentage of the U.S. population age 16 and over that is in the work force has risen at a roughly constant rate, from 59.4% in 1960 to 66.6% in 2002.
I need to find the equation describing the relationship. I believe I need to find the slope first. Which is the change in y1-y over x1-x. But I' don't know how to express this.
Please help me find the equation.

The number of pages in the U.S. tax code exceeds the number of pages in the King James Bible by 18,528. The combined number of pages in the U.S. tax code and the King James Bible is 21,472. Determine the number of pages in each.

In 2007, there were 13,300 student at college A, with a projected enrollment increase of 1000 students per year. In the same year, there were 26,800 students at college B, with a projected enrollment decline of 500 students per year. According to these projections, when will the colleges have the same enrollment? What will be the enrollment in each college at that time?

Question 188220: I have two lines for a system of linear equations. They are y= -3/2x -215. and y= 7x +1026. I thried and I got x is -73/2 and y is 254.24. When I plug it in to check it they did not equal each other. Thank you for helping and any help you give would be great.

I thought I could solve it easily by the addition method, but I came up with some crazy fractions and got stuck. Please help.
This is how I started:

3(5m+2n=-8)
20m-6n=10
15m+6n=-24
35m=-34
This is where I got stuck. Please help!
