So we need to get the x's on one side and the whole numbers on the other.
We will first add 3x to both sides;
5x-3+3x=13-3x+3x
We can add like terms;
8x-3=13
Now we will add 3 to each side;
8x-3+3=13+3
8x=16
Divide both sides by 8;
8x%2F8=16%2F8
x=2
