SOLUTION: "If 2/3 of a number is added to the number, the result is 110. Find the numbers"
My solution:
2/3 = 67%
110 x 67% = 73.7
110 - 73.7 = 36.3
or
110 / 3 = 36.67

Question 165424: "If 2/3 of a number is added to the number, the result is 110. Find the numbers"
My solution:
2/3 = 67%
110 x 67% = 73.7
110 - 73.7 = 36.3
or
110 / 3 = 36.67
Therefore 2/3 would be 73.34 + 36. 67 = 110
Would both be correct, or neither?
Thank you very much in advance. The tutors are very much appreciated for their time and knowledge! Answer by Mathtut(3670) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! 2/3x +x=110 where x is the given number. remember how its stated two thirds of a number(x) which would be 2/3x is added to itself (x), that is how I arrived at the equation. Then it is a simple matter of solving for x. so (5/3)x=110 so 5x=330 and x=66
hope that helps!!!!!
