.05n+%2B+.1d+=+3.50 The coins add up to $3.50
multiply this equation by 10
.5n+%2B+d+=+35
Subtract this equation from the 1st one
.5n+=+15
n+=+30 answer
n+%2B+d+=+50
30+%2B+d+=+50
d+=+20 answer
Ther are 30 nickels and 20 dimes
