Question 606724: For the system of linear equation
-Determine how many solutions exist
-Use either elimination or substitution to find the solutions (if any)
-Graph the two lines, labeling the x-intercepts, y-intercepts, and points of intersection
x + y = 3, y = x + 3
Here is what I have done so far using substitution:
x + y = 3, y = x + 3
x + y = 3
x + y – y = 3 – y
x = 3 – y
3 – y + y = 3 – y
3 = 3 – y
3 – 3 = 3 – 3 – y
y = 0
x + 0 = 3
x = 3
check
x + y = 3
3 + 0 = 3
3 = 3 (It checks here but not in the second equation)
It seems I am getting the reverse of what the answer should be. I have done it many times and I get the same answer. Please help!

Question 608973: You have to graph the linear system. then use the graph to tell whether the linear system has one solution, no solution, or infinitely many solutions. the question is -9x+6y=18 and 6x-4y=-12. This is just one problem.

Question 609043: Because of this Algebra, I keep receiving bad marks on my report cards and progress reports.
I had five problems that I had to do on graph paper. I did four of them, but didn't understand the rest.
15. x+2y<10, x+2y>9 (Two equations per problem. There's a little line under the equal to signs.)
16. (Again, there's a little line underneath the equal to sign.) y>-x+5, y<3x-4
My Algebra teacher just isn't too elaborate with things and doesn't really help me. If you could just explain steps to graphing these equations, my gratitude would go through the roof.
Thank you. :)

4x-3y = 10
x+4y = 7
Using any methood...
Solution: x = 3.21052631578947, y = 0.947368421052632
However (1, -2) also works why?
How can I solve this system and yeild the possible result (1, -2)?
