Question 13536: Hi Tutors:
I am working on systems of equations in three variables. I worked up to the point where I solved for Y. I found Y to be -45/119 . I would like some help because working with these kinds of fractions make me real nervous. Please help me? Here is the problem. 2x+y+2z=11 3x+2y+2z=8 x+4y+3z=0 Thank you SAN ANTONIO

Question 13638: x+(x-10)+1/2x=180
to solve this problem we will use simple algebra
that is
x+x-10+1/2x=180
2x+1/2x=180+10
taking lcm
(2x(2x)+1)/2x=190
(4x^2+1)/2x=190
by cross mutiplication
4x^2+1=190*2x
4x^2+1=380x
4x^2-380x+1=0
now we can do it either by qudratic formula
or completing square method

Question 13795: Could you show me all workings to solve this equation:
y/3+3=12-2y
solution
we will bring the variables on one side
that is
y/3+2y=12-3
we will now take lcm
(y+2y(3))/3=9
(y+6y)/3=9
7y=9*3 (by multiplying 3 on both sides of the equation)
7y=27
y=27/7 answer

Question 13772: I just can't figure this out no matter how I try. I am to find an intersection point(if there is one) and graph, shading the appropriate areas.
y>=-1/2x + 1 and 2x-3y>=3. I need to know a step by step solution. I don't know what they are asking for. This is confusing to me. Any help would be appreciated.
